GENERAL INFORMATION ON MEASURING AND TESTING TECHNOLOGY
The measurement and testing technology of the WTZ Roßlau is mainly concerned with the further development of measurement methods and systems as well as the calibration, evaluation and processing of measurement signals. Customers are increasingly relying on a high degree of automation and integrated process quality testing. Innovative measuring and testing technologies play a key role in this. Today, several control units are installed in engine test benches, which perform the various functions in a network. Stricter laws and regulations regarding CO2 and fuel consumption reduction constantly demand better results.
For this reason, WTZ Roßlau invests in state-of-the-art measurement systems for each individual engine test bench. New combustion and injection technologies increasingly demand high-precision measurement results together with ever more precise measuring instruments. The demand for higher test stand efficiency means rapid commissioning of measurement systems. A reliable fuel supply to the engine with preselectable parameters, such as fuel temperature and pressure, are prerequisites for high measurement accuracies on the engine test bench.
Special measuring equipment is used to record rapidly changing variables in injection and injection systems, combustion chambers and charge exchange ducts. Measurements of thermal balances, component temperatures and expansions, exhaust gas pollutant emissions and particle measurements also require special measuring equipment.
